A Biography Of Bhagwati Charan Vohra And Durga Bhabi
This co-biography’ of all but forgotten unique revolutionary couple who took all the ordeals and humiliations rained upon them not only by the oppressive regime but also by their own comrades in their stride so stoically, the same very comrades whom they continue to rescue all this while putting at stake not only their rich family treasure but also their own lives besides their little Sachi. The generous intellectual Bhagwati Charan had also authored all the three landmark writings of the Movement, namely, “Naujawan Bharat Sabha’s Manifesto”, “HSRA Manifesto”, and “Philosophy of the Bomb”. Met a tragic end on 28 May 1930 in a remote forest on the banks of the river Ravi, while testing a bomb, which was one of the bombs to be used for the rescue of Bhagat Singh and B.K. Dutt from Central Jail Lahore. His mortal remains were quietly buried there without allowing any family members to have the last glimpse of the Grand Revolutionary. His last words were “Let my death not derail the rescue attempt of 1st June 1930”.
